My name is Bonnie Cash and I’m a New Orleans born and raised photojournalist covering politics in Washington, DC. My love for my hometown is only superseded by my passion for photojournalism. Without either, I would not be the photographer or person I am today.
In 2020, I was the photo intern with The Hill on Capitol Hill from January thru December. In May 2021, I graduated from The George Washington University with my Masters in New Media Photojournalism. My capstone project on the mental health of nurses, “Carry With Us” is linked above. After graduating, I freelanced for 5 years with agencies like Getty Images, Bloomberg, UPI, The New York Times, Reuters, AFP, SIPA and The Washington Post.
In 2025, I signed with UPI as their Chief Photographer- DC in charge of covering DC, Maryland and Virginia. You can find me covering sports, politics, protests and everything inbetween!
